Fr. Christin Raj, O. Praem (aka Fr. Chris). Fr. Chris is a Norbertine priest originally from Trichy, Tamil Nadu, in southern India. He entered the Norbertine Seminary in India in the year 2000 at the age of sixteen. He was ordained a priest on December 30, 2012, and has now been a priest for over twelve years. In June 2018, Fr. Chris arrived at St. Norbert Abbey in De Pere, serving in the Diocese of Green Bay. He humorously recalls being excited to experience snow for the first time—though he admits he has now “seen enough of it!”. Fr. Chris is the youngest in his family and has two older brothers and one sister. Prior to coming to the United States, he served in various leadership and pastoral roles in India, including: Associate Rector in the Minor Seminary, Trichy, India Secretary to the Abbot, St. Norbert Abbey, Jamtara, Jabalpur, India Manager of St. Norbert Catholic School, Trichy, India Co-Pastor at Holy Trinity Church, Trichy, India Assistant Director of a Catholic Social Work Centr, India Fr. Chris brings with him a warm pastoral heart, deep spiritual insight, and a joyful love for people. He shares that he was open to coming to Wisconsin because he welcomed a new experience and the opportunity to encounter different perspectives and cultures. An enthusiastic supporter of the Green Bay Packers, you’ll often hear him say, “Go Pack Go!” He enjoys playing the electronic keyboard, singing, reading, listening to music, and Watching inspirational Videos. Fr. Chris says he is eager and blessed to begin his new ministry at St. Bernadette Parish. Let us keep him in our prayers as he begins this new chapter of service among us.
